Ikigai is a Japanese word which translates as reason for being.

What is your Ikigai?
What is your reason for being?
Are you living a conscious life rather than just doing what everyone else is doing ….
or are you doing what you think others think you should be doing?
How to find your Ikigai – your sense of purpose….
This is a personal journey of reflection, retrospection and contemplation.
This will help you feel motivated, pursue your passions, have ownership and to follow your own path.

What do you love?
What is your passion?
What do you enjoy spending your time doing?
What nourishes your soul?
What feeds your spirit and gives you energy?
What fills you with joy and makes you happy?

What is your mission?
The world needs you… how can you help?
What do you want to do to make a difference?
What causes do you believe in?
What would you like to change the most?
Be the change, Be the vehicle for change.
Inspire others to do the same.
Whether your idea is small or big – you can make a difference.
What difference do you want to make?

What is your vocation?
What are you good at? What are you great at?!
What do friends and family call on you for? What area is your area of expertise? – and does this make you happy?
What are your unique skills that you can offer to the world?
What are your talents?
What activities are you cultivating right now?
What do you spend your time doing?

What could you offer?
Is this something that you could get paid to do?
Can you work at something that lines these areas up? – love, mission, expertise values and what can you add to the World?
Is there something that you would like to volunteer at?
What services or offering could you bring to your community? the World?
What can you do that people need help with?
This is not about your job, career, status or money.
How are you showing up – for yourself?
How are you showing up for others?
Spend a few minutes writing down ideas, concepts, phrases and words that arise when you think of each question. Look for areas that overlap.
Reflect on what this means for you in your life.
Are you naturally being called towards a particular area? Maybe there’s a mix of things? That’s ok.
For some people the answers will jump out and for others it may take some time to reflect on.
Things can also change over periods of time, so it’s important to reevaluate. Your path does not have to be fixed – it can change. Give yourself the permission to do this. Who are you serving if you are sticking with an idea that’s 10years old and that’s no longer applies where you are at in your life? Change things so that they are!
Every time you go through your day – ask your self – What is filling you with joy? What are you passionate about? and how can you help yourself and others?
Keep a diary and a picture will come over time. See what emerges!
What is you Ikigai?
Don’t forget to have fun while you look too! Once you know you can work towards your Ikigai.
Live consciously and turn up in he world for yourself and others. Start now!
