Light, Archetypal identity, oriented to self-reflection.

Located in the middle of the forehead.

The Third Eye Chakra is known as the brow Chakra or Third Eye Centre.

This Chakra is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such it opens your psychic faculties and your understanding of archetypal levels. When healthy it allows you to see clearly, see different perspectives, in effect, letting you “see the big picture.”

Intuition, wisdom, visualisation.

When the Ajna Chakra is working you can see things as they are, have clear thinking. You can visualise, you are intuitive, you have a holistic way of seeing things.

When the Ajna Chakra is imbalanced you can have problems with sight, vision, headaches, migraines, dizziness, forgetful, mentally confused. You are dominated by material desires, physical needs and unreflected emotions.

To balance the Ajna Chakra you can experience nature – looking at a starry sky. You can contemplate the boundless expanse and the variety of forms within it. You can meditate or have a Reiki or Sound healing session .

Caution*

Please make sure the Yoga poses listed for each Chakra are appropriate for you. If you have any history of illness or injury, please be sure the postures are safe for you to do before you practice. Each posture has contraindications. Please ensure you are familiar with these before trying a pose. Some times the best course of action is not to do the pose. If you do decide to practice – do so mindfully and back out of the posture if it doesn’t feel right for you in any way.

It’s generally considered better to open the Chakras from the lower Chakras up. Starting with a solid foundation  and building up from there.
